Distance learning via Computer Based Training [
CBT ] is a powerful application of web technology.
Knowledge and
expertise are communicated across great divisions using
commonly available computer systems creating an exciting
method of information sharing.
Society has only begun
to utilize the potential of this medium. Simply using
standard hyperlinks to cross-reference
a body of text and images on a CD-ROM is very effective.
The technology is readily available, the cost of development
is low and the returns are high.
When the
television was invented, people
believed it would be a very effective educational tool. The
reality of using TV for education has lagged behind our
hopes because
of
the
passive nature of viewing. Computer
Based Training offers
a much more potent paradigm for learning because it
offers
interactive learning.
With CBT, the user plays an active role in selecting
information, thus reinforcing
the neuropathic connections which form
memory. This
increases the retention
of information and the value of time spent learning.
We create content accessible via Internet
or CD for PC, Macintosh and UNIX platforms. We print and
duplicate
our own CDs on site.
