| Excellent example of iliac crest wedge biopsy with interconnecting trabecular bone extending from one cortex to the other. Fatty marrow is present between the trabeculae. Intense blue staining is the typical pattern of the trichrome stain on mature mineralized bone in undecalcified bone biopsy sections. Osteoid stains red with this stain, as do collagen and skeletal muscle. | ||||
